Beh, noi cosa dobbiamo fare?
Grazie a tutti.

Dear colleagues,
Please find below information about an event organized upon the initiative of the road safety not-for-profit organization that my family created in 2004 after my young brother died in a car crash. This action will be held on November 18 2007 for the International Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims. I hope you will accept to join us in observing this day or forward this message to the people who could be interested. Please note that this is a completely free act, and that no donation is required.
The people who want to observe this day will illuminate their windows with candles when the evening comes, in memory of the people who tragically lost their lives on the road. The action is also aimed at demonstrating solidarity towards injured victims and their families and sharing the road safety message by symbolically lighting the road for other citizens. This can be done at any time during the weekend (when the night falls on Saturday evening, or on Sunday) but this symbolic gesture should occur preferably from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday in order to light as many candles as possible in each country during this 2-hour time.
Resolution 60/5 of the United Nations has promulgated the third Sunday of November of each year as the International Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims. On this day, we will pay tribute to the people, friends and relatives, who lost their life in a car crash. It will also be an opportunity to reaffirm our determination for major public-spiritedness on the roads in order to prevent new useless human losses.
This is an international cooperation initiative with other organizations all around the world, with the support of World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. Organizations in Europe, the Unites States, Mexico, Argentina and the Midlle-East have already accepted to join the common action described above.
We are today working to have certain international institutions symbolically transferring the "flame" from one continent to another one, via visioconference from WHO in Geneva to the French embassy in Washington and the Department of Health in Mexico. The "light of Hope" will thus be transferred from one continent to another one, according to the time
difference: when the lights vanish in Europe, they will be lit in America, symbolising our homage to road traffic victims and our commitment against road violence beyond the 24 hours of this special day. We suggest that people who observe this day keep trace of their gesture by taking a photo of the candles lighting their home. These photos will then be collected by my organization and then released on WHO website.
Thank you for your time in receiving this mail. Please forward to whom it may concern to help publicizing this event.
Sincerely,
Antoinette
